ANWB provides roadside assistance on the Dutch roads with approximately 900 mechanics. The mechanics are divided across 48 regional teams. The assignment of mechanics occurs based on the team planning and the incoming requests for roadside assistance. The daily planning process was very inefficient and time consuming due to changes in demand, illness and shift swapping. Every team manager spent approximately 4 hours a day maintaining the planning.

Project Scope

Quintiq is planning all the 1150 repair service men who help its 3,5 million members in the event their car breaks down along the Dutch roads. The system supports team managers in creating the daily plan and assigning mechanics to roadside assistance requests.
