Airservices Australia in a government-owned corporation providing air traffic control management and related airside services in a region covering 11 per cent of the world’s surface. ASA employs around 3000 staff, including approximately 900 Air Traffic Controllers, working from two major centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and 26 towers at international and regional airports. ASA manages air traffic operations for around 63 million passengers on more than 4 million domestic and international flights every year.
Project Scope
Airservices Australia has selected Quintiq as its new workforce planning solution. ASA will use the Quintiq solution for its operational air traffic management workforce. Fatigue management, shift assignments, training and qualifications are all requirements for Airservices to meet in creating their air traffic controller rosters.
Airservices also provides Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services at 21 of the nation’s busiest airports. Following the roll-out to air traffic control areas, ARFF will move from existing manual planning to Quintiq intelligent rostering over time.
